She has a vibrant energy about her that is infectious and engaging, using humour, storytelling and personal experience to help enhance the learning experience for participants and ensure the key messages are understood and meaningful to a varied audience. Participant feedback is without exception, very positive, with delegates commenting on her flexible, but professional facilitation style, and her level of knowledge and expertise of the different topic areas that she teaches or presents.

I find the Reflective Practice meetings you run invaluable in helping me to manage clients that can be difficult to work with. You are always able to offer a different perspective on how to see why someone is behaving in the way they do. I usually dread any kind of role play but I find your way so useful in being able to put myself in their shoes. I always feel empowered and positive when I leave your meetings.

Christine facilitated a workshop for my team around thriving during times of change and transition at the end of 2014. The year had been very challenging for our us (approx. 80 people). We had recently come together as a new team from different cultures, and implemented a major new IT system which changed the way we all worked. We were learning new ways to do our jobs at the same time as working with a new group of people.

It is fair to say that we were all very tired by the end of 2014 and needed to spend some time reflecting and focusing on ourselves as individuals and the team. We needed to refresh our approach and recharge our batteries for the next set of challenges. Christine helped enormously with this.

Every piece of feedback I received from my team after the workshop was positive. People said it helped them think differently about change, and how they react and respond to it. Some also mentioned that it helped in their home lives too! Everyone committed to take a least one action forward from the session.

Since the workshop, we have commenced work on developing more efficient ways of working and coming up with creative ways of managing with less people. People are working together across teams much more. We are making changes together. We are talking more, supporting each other and well on the road to becoming an effective and resilient team.
Lisa Melia, Shared Service Co-ordinator, Kirklees Council

She has also delivered on a number of occasions a wide range of training courses, including short courses and longer term ones to clinical and front line staff. Some subjects covered included: time management, team leadership skills, mentorship, counselling, coaching, change management. Thanks very much for all the work you have carried out with the team. They have all said they enjoyed it and found the input beneficial. I have really noticed a difference in the team and how they perform together and individually. I can see they appreciate each other’s differences and they collectively think about who is the right person with the right skills to carry out pieces of work. I am writing today, following my 6th and final leadership coaching session with Christine McLean. She has shown me kindness and patience, and helped me find insight and solutions... I feel more confident at work and in life in general. I worry less about what I haven't done yet, and think instead about how I am going to get it done. My issues with relationships at work have not magically disappeared, but I now have courage and strategies for how to handle people with both kindness and assertiveness.
Rachel Sheils, Medical Director, Overgate Hospice

A great professional who shares her knowledge and skills in a fun way!

I commissioned information sharing programmes from Christine McLean Consulting Limited, as she had been recommended to me. It was part of our common induction training and she clearly understood the integrated working agenda, prepared well and made sure that she understood our local procedures. She was sensitive to the particular needs of our area and delivered a number of information sharing awareness sessions to practitioners and to managers. The training was extremely well evaluated and gave practitioners from diverse children's services very practical and easy to follow guidance on working together in a more effective and efficient way. Comments were:

"I particularly enjoyed the scenarios and getting other views and ideas. I will follow up by sending all my staff on this training as excellent."

"It made it clear in my mind about what is expected of me when information sharing. The dos and don'ts and clarity have helped my understanding a lot, particularly the flow chart."

"I enjoyed the pace and delivery at the training. Group discussions were particularly helpful."

"The training was thought provoking in regards to information sharing."

Christine is professional, a good communicator and is easy to deal with. I would definitely recommend her.

...On Organisational Change

Thank you once again for delivering the excellent two day training for our team!

You have inspired us to consider our spoken/written language and how to strive to use it to best effect, not only with our clients but also with our colleagues. You have given us the confidence to approach situations more assertively and to use a variety of techniques and phrases to enable enhanced communication.

I speak for us all when I say that the training sessions were a pleasure to attend and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend your sessions.

I would recommend Christine whole heartedly as a leadership development coach, we have worked together for 9 sessions now and the change in my approach and my perception of myself being able to lead my team and meeting the huge challenges of moving from a small voluntary organisation to employing people and leading the strategic development of the services we provide has been incredible.

Christine has helped me to examine and realign my skills to being a leader and helped me develop new perspectives and insight into how to improve communication with myself and others.

The practical application of the theory has already begun to prove invaluable both professionally and personally and I feel far better equipped to uncover potential obstacles and negative behaviours as well as more readily accepting the mindsets of my colleagues.

I learned, through this programme, that a person's perspective on change is what matters to them, and that I need to work with them, not from my perspective on their issue – altered my thinking on approaches.

...Feedback from National Conferences

I have heard you speak before on weight loss and booked to see you again, totally inspiring and practical thank you.
I enjoyed the session, it was fun and I learned loads about how to communicate better with patients and relatives, thank you.
One of the best talks of the day! I was sceptical at first and now can really see how NLP can help better communication, I can't wait to try it.
FAB! Just FAB! Thank you.
Your presentation style and ability to tell stories that made situations come to life, kept me interested and wanting more. I will definitely read your e-book and hope to see you speak at more conferences very soon.

...On Personal Change

I wanted to let you know what an incredible difference our sessions have made. Having suffered from chronic blushing for over twenty years, I had reached a point in my life when I was determined to resolve this problem rather than put up with it.

I feel it has been reduced from an out of control problem that has held me back in many respects for many years to a very manageable part of me which I don't even think about much these days.

I cannot thank you enough for your very personal, supportive and patient sessions which seem to have cracked it !
Mrs L.R, Halifax, 2015
With an exciting new job on the horizon and interview in the bag I decided it was finally time to take control of my gremlins. I particularly get 'The fear' at interviews – clamming up and losing track of my point and not feeling as though I've given good examples. I got in touch with Chris after hearing about a former colleagues experience of coaching with her. We had a 2 hour session a few days before my interview, I cannot say how much this helped me the day and during the interview – I felt really calm and positive and a bit like I could take on the world if you asked me to! Anyway, good news is I got the job and to top that, I received fantastic feedback on my interview from a panel member. I put this down to the incredible tools that Chris gave me! Sometime you just need someone to help you see the issue – once you know that you can work on it.

NLP has changed my life.

Just a few hours of NLP therapy have liberated me from a chocolate addiction which has plagued me for decades and 'comfort' eating habits which have undermined all previous attempts to lose weight.

For the first time in thirty years, I feel in control of food rather than food controlling me. NLP has enabled me to develop a positive attitude. I have thrown away the weighing scales and decided to eat what I want whenever I'm hungry and I'm loosing weight - I mean, requiring smaller clothes! For the first time in decades, I don't actually know what I weigh and I have stopped obsessing about it. This is a big achievement, because I was weighing myself twice weekly and considering bariatric surgery just four months ago.

I strongly recommend NLP therapy to anyone who wants to lose weight. For me, it was the last resort before surgery. Surgery I no longer need, because I'm loosing weight on my own.
Eileen, Bradford
I wanted to send you a note to say a huge, huge thank you for all your help. I am for the first time actually excited and cannot wait to go on the journey. I keep testing to see if I can feel the fear but its just not there - I am so pleased.

I had two fab flights, I even slept right through the night before which is unheard of. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Kate, Sheffield
From a very early age my weight had always been an issue, my confidence rock bottom and despising what I saw in the mirror. My weight fluctuated up and down, so sometimes I was justified in my concern but the hatred I gave myself certainly wasn't! I tried quite a lot of diets, a popular known one did in fact result in me losing 2 stone at the time, however it slowly crept back as I got comfortable and relaxed in my relationship. I wasn't huge but I know I was bigger than I'd like to be, then of course I became pregnant. I enjoyed the pregnancy and I didn't even mind the 4 and a 1/2 stone weight gain, that was until my son was born and I needed to lose the extra pounds!! My trouble was, I just love food, and although I didn't eat high fat rubbish food my portions were the same as my partners which was far too much, I knew enough was enough and decided to give Christine's therapy a whirl!

We had two whole sessions, delving deep into my subconscious to the core root of my issues with food, we set up a time line and a goal of which I would like to achieve. We touched on things I didn't even recognise were causing an issue, and after an emotional yet liberating couple of sessions I feel amazing!

I no longer count on food as a way of comforting myself, yes I still love food and enjoy it but its no longer the focal point of my day to day life.

Since my sessions I have lost 2 stone, and I have very nearly lost 2 dress sizes, I feel lovely! I once stood in front of the mirror pointing out all my "disgusting flaws", now when I look at myself I see the real me, I point out my ever decreasing waistline, my slimmer thighs and flatter stomach.....I now feel that I do look good and things can only go up from here!
Ms. Johnson, Oldham
Throughout my life I have attended motivational talks, watched DVDs, listened to 'The Secret', walked on hot coals, and read numerous books in an effort to improve my confidence and subsequently my self esteem, and my life; I was aware of the positive frame of mind required for success, but for some reason the actualisation of it eluded me.

I met Chris though my sister, and decided to work with her to try to align my previous learning and knowledge with my reality; we discussed what I hoped to achieve from NLP and booked two half day sessions for the following week.

Quite a lot of time was spent working on my subconscious mind, which was a challenge as it requires a lot of faith, and felt strange. We worked through areas of my life which had become difficult and stressful and Chris gave me strategies to cope with future occasions when these challenges might recur, and different ways of seeing things.

The test came when, shortly after my NLP sessions, I was faced with an occasion which would normally have caused me stress and anxiety and which would previously have tested my confidence to the limits; I was very surprised and thrilled to find that although I still experienced anxiety, I felt confident and capable of dealing with the situation calmly, and achieved the outcome I wanted. This has happened several times and each experience of success has inspired me, and given me more confidence for the next one.

Although I cannot really say how this therapy has worked, I am absolutely certain that it has, and I will not hesitate to contact Chris again in the future should I feel the need for more support.

I got an email today from a participant at the conference I spoke at, she said how much she enjoyed my talk and congratulated me on the reception I got from the audience, that was public speaking at its scariest! And I did it! I couldn't have done it without your help, thank you so much, I can't wait to do another one now! Bet you never thought you would hear me say that!
